How does Oracle define OWB?

Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) 11g is a data warehousing-centered data modeling and data integration solution, built into every Oracle 11g database.

OWB 11gR2 is pre-installed with Oracle Database 11gR2, and can be installed and used alongside Oracle Database 10gR2 and 11gR1.

Warehouse Builder delivers the following capabilities:

Data Warehousing and BI:-

• Relational and dimensional modeling
• Support for OLAP and cube organized MVs
• Support for Oracle data warehousing features such as partitioning
• Oracle BI tool integration (Discoverer and OBI-EE)
• Metadata management, data lineage, impact analysis and change propagation for complex designs

Data Integration and ETL :-

• In-database EL-T processing (Oracle and non-Oracle)
• Oracle and SAP ERP application sources
• ELT with set-based Oracle SQL and row-based PL/SQL
